The Port of Québec takes another step forward in its innovation strategy with the official launch of the "Le Phare" innovation laboratory. This initiative marks the Port's firm commitment to innovation, and aims to offer its infrastructures, opportunities, expertise and network of contacts to the entrepreneurial community.

Through this collaboration, the Port aims to develop innovative technological solutions to meet the challenges of the maritime industry in terms of logistics and sustainable transport. It's an opportunity to propel Quebec startups to international prominence, while at the same time working to solve key issues in maritime transport competitiveness, sustainable supply chains and environmental footprint reduction.

The Port can count on the camp's expertise in developing and implementing innovative projects, and in facilitating networking with startups. Their young companies will be able to breathe new life into projects involving maintenance, waste management or maritime-related installations, and will have access to the port's infrastructure to test and experiment with solutions for the future.

With the help of 2 Degrés and their expertise in propelling Quebec start-ups towards the realization of clean technology initiatives, the Port hopes to find innovative solutions in several sectors, including the fight against climate change, the development of clean energies, decarbonization and city-port cohabitation.

Novarium

Novarium supports startups and industrial partners in the development and commercialization of sustainable solutions that tackle the most pressing climate challenges, such as ocean preservation. This partnership will support innovation in the maritime sector, and contribute to the reputation of the Quebec City region as a center of excellence in the blue economy. With its international network, Novarium will enable the Port's initiatives to be seen worldwide.

MtLab

MTLab is an incubator and gas pedal for startups, a platform for open innovation and networking, a space for experimentation and monitoring, as well as a place for co-working and entrepreneurial support. It's a natural partnership that will propel Quebec companies with innovative ideas in the tourism sector, both here and internationally.

Maritime Innovation

The Port of Québec works closely with Innovation Maritime, an applied research center that contributes to the development of the maritime sector and stimulates excellence through research and innovation. Innovation Maritime is at the heart of a multidisciplinary tactical team that brings together stakeholders from the academic, private, community and entrepreneurial sectors to help the Port find solutions to complex problems.

Laval University

The Port is working in collaboration with Université Laval and has obtained significant funding over two years to study certain operational and logistical issues.
